Southwind — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026 · Published by Lonestar Games

Southwind is a screenwriting editor. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: your writing stays on your device, and we do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.

What we collect

Nothing. Southwind has no account, no login, and no sign-up. We do not collect names, email addresses, contacts, location, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics.

Where your screenplays live

Everything you write — your script, character and location notes, and any photos you attach to a profile — is stored locally on your own device (in the app's on-device storage). It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. When you use “Save” or export a .fountain/.southwind file, that file goes only where you choose to send or store it.

Network access

Southwind works fully offline and makes no network requests at all. The Courier Prime typeface ships inside the app, so even the first run reaches nobody — there is no font server, no analytics, no telemetry, and nothing to opt out of.

Children

Southwind is a general-purpose writing tool and is not directed at children. Because we collect no data at all, we collect none from children.

Data sharing & sale

We do not share or sell data, because we do not have any of your data to begin with.

Your control

You can delete all of your data at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. Because nothing is stored on our side, there is nothing for you to request from us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear at this same address with a new date.
